Robots help dispense 1.7m medicines since 2014 in UAE
Robots have helped dispense over 1.7 million prescription medicines in the Capital since 2014, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) has revealed. Over 523,000 patients have benefitted from the smart pharmacy service's accuracy. Dr Maha Al Ghufli, corporate pharmacy manager at the Seha, said: "The smart pharmacy service has succeeded in improving the accuracy of prescriptions, eliminating over-prescription and reducing waiting times." SEHA to transform medication handling through Robotic Pharmacies
Virtus announced that Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. (SEHA) has awarded them the contract for Seven Robotic pharmacies (Rowa Vmax by BD) aimed at addressing the special challenges of medication management at SEHA hospitals. Once implemented, it would be one of the largest deployments by a Health organisation in the region. The Robotic pharmacies will be deployed at five locations namely Tawam Hospital (Tandem system), Sheikh Khalifa Medical Center (Two Rowa Systems), Al Rahba Hospital (Rowa Vmax), Baniyas Clinic (Rowa Vmax) and Oud Al Touba Clinic (Rowa Vmax). It will serve the purpose of Automated medication storage and dispensing system for Out Patient Pharmacy and shall be interfaced with the Hospital information System - Cerner/Mallafi and Oracle. The system is designed with maximum automation in mind combined with optimum flexibility and includes a fully automatic input system that is customized to SEHA' specific requirement. ROWA shall have a box storage capacity ranging from 25,000 to 60,000 boxes. In 2014, SEHA had already deployed the first Robotic Pharmacy in UAE at the Mohamed bin Zayed clinic. Robodoc showcased by DHA during UAE innovation month
As part of the Dubai Health Authority’s participation in the UAE Innovation Month 2018, the authority showcased some of the latest innovations and achievements in healthcare at the DHA’s Innovation Hub from 22nd to 28th February at City Walk, Dubai. One of these innovation is the Dubai Robodoc (InTouch Vita) which is used for the Smart Headache clinic. The Smart Headache Clinic is an extension to the two multidisciplinary headache clinics in Nad Al Hamar Health Centre and Al Barsha Health Centre, launched by the DHA last year, to follow-up with existing patients through telemedicine using RoboDoc.

Dubai Health Authority announced the launch of the telemedicine service at the PHC's headache clinic using RoboDoc. Patients at Al Barsha Health Centre can now receive consultation through the RoboDoc from Rashid Hospital's neurology doctors. During the consult, the patient talks to the specialist directly in the presence of Family medicine doctors to provide a well-rounded treatment plan.

Dubai links Life-Support Devices to Central Database - Gulf News
Virtus implements Wave 1 and Wave 2 of Medical Device Integration for DHA’s Salama project using Capsule Tech Technology. Hundreds of life-support devices and critical care equipment such as ventilators, dialysis and anesthesia machines, cardiac and fetal monitors and incubators in all Dubai government hospitals are being linked to a central database of patients. This integration will ensure that all patient medical records will be unified and be accessible electronically through a unified patient portal eventually making medical records at the DHA a completely paperless project.

Doctor-less Emergency Rooms become reality - Khaleej Times
Health specialists in Dubai will soon be able to attend to patients remotely as Dubai Health Authority (DHA) launches the pilot phase of its first telehealth project. The RoboDoc, that was first introduced in September last year at Hatta Hospital, promises to cut down on waiting times while allowing doctors to operate even when away from emergency rooms and will be introduced in the second phase. The doctor-on-wheels has already saved a few lives that could have been at risk if precious time was spent on transporting the patients from remote areas to Dubai for treatment.
